Definition of Services
Prenatal Support*: Provide emotional and educational support as well as any resources required, assess pregnancy progress and address any questions or concerns, provide necessary childbirth education, birth planning assistance, breastfeeding education and materials to further build a relationship with the member.
Labor and Delivery Support: Aid in the members comfort and progress throughout labor while providing continuity of care and empowering the member to advocate for herself and her birthing experience. Continuous emotional, physical and informational support will be provided.
Postpartum Support*: Process the birthing experience with the member, assess the mother’s comfort with the newborn and breastfeeding, assess the members mood and educate her on PPMD, and provide the necessary resources and support for a successful postpartum period.
Certified Lactation Counselor Support: Provide members with the support of a Certified Lactation Consultant to promote healthy breastfeeding outcomes and assist with extreme breastfeeding needs beyond the scope of the doula.
Postpartum Only Services: Process the birthing experience with the member, assess the mother’s comfort with the newborn and breastfeeding, assess the members mood and educate her on PPMD, and provide the necessary resources and support for a successful postpartum period. The Postpartum Doula provide the services between 7:00 am – 7: 00 pm.
Overnight Postpartum Doula Services: Process the birthing experience with the member, assess the mother’s comfort with the newborn and breastfeeding, assess the members mood and educate her on PPMD, and provide the necessary resources and support for a successful postpartum period. The Overnight Postpartum Doula provide the services between 7:00 pm – 7: 00 am.

Service Provider Definition
Birth Doula: A birth doula is a professional trained in childbirth who provides emotional, physical, and educational support to a mother who is expecting, experiencing labor, or has recently given birth. The doula’s purpose is to help women have a safe, memorable, and empowering birth experience.
Postpartum Doula: A postpartum doula provides evidence-based information on such things as infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, mother-baby bonding, infant soothing, and basic newborn care. A postpartum doula is there to help with new family dynamics in those first days and weeks after bringing home a new baby.
Certified Lactation Counselors: is professional in lactation counseling who has demonstrated the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes to provide clinical breastfeeding counseling and management support to families who are thinking about breastfeeding or who have questions or problems during the course of breastfeeding/lactation.
